Peach is considered by Zen culture the fruit of eternal life and few studies have been presented in order to investigate this fact (see: Sesquiterpene glucosides from Shenzhou honey peach fruit showed the anti-aging activity in the evaluation system using yeasts)
Peach was domesticated in China and the ancestors of european cultivars came probably from Alexander the Great era. So to research for the "best" peach to have positive effect on health the main source of material is China.
The most promising cultivars are chinese landraces, which in europe are extremely difficult to find.
